Turn a critical eye to your “collections.” Ask yourself: Is this little hobby draining you of your children’s college fund? Does it make you happy? Does it have value? Has it become a habit? Consider trimming the fat on things you don’t feel strongly about – emancipate yourself!

I think the one people struggle with the most are books.
Then again, I'm the one who has tons of accessories and clothes. Pot meet kettle..
The only thing I collect now is vintage jewelry that I know I'm going to wear. I've even whittled down my clothes to just basic black and interchangeables. My next purge is my shoe collection. I'll hold on to my boots, but the shoes can do (except the 4 inch Carlos Santanas, of course).
Sometimes spending money on a collection can save money on something else - eg entertainment because the collection IS the entertainment!
Happy travels!!
