Now that the warm weather is in full swing, Tightwad has to remember to hang stuff to dry instead of cranking on her dryer. If YOU have any quick thrifty tips, please leave them in the comments and get featured in the next Thrifty Tip Thursday.
I started asking the hubs for a clothesline 3 years ago when I was cloth diapering. Didn't get one then but I kind of rigged my own to get the dipes dry. But for Mother's Day this year I finally got one. I love it. Especially when we have the 90 degree + days the clothes are dry in 20 minutes. It makes no sense for me to pay to cool my house and then pay to heat it up with the dryer. Except the dog thinks it is really fun to rip the clothes down and make a bed out of them.
Had to add to this, even though it's an old post. It's always great to hang your whites out on the line on hot sunny days, maybe even leave them out for a day or two as the sun naturally bleaches the whites. (which means your colors also get a little bit of fade but you just don't leave those out there as long!)

It might be a faster solution that my current dryer. haha.
I meant to say "than" my current dryer. It takes like 2 or 3 cycles to dry. ugh!!
I've got clothes on my line as we "speak!" (Er...time to go and take them down!)
True dat. I still prefer a dryer. But here's a thrifty tip you can use. Freecycle. Lots of good stuff free for the asking. Check it out.
Now that I have a new clothesline pole I've been able to hang dry my clothes again!
I've been using vinegar in a spray bottle for deodorant. Cheap and it works...
