A food diary

Yesterday Tightwad when out and bought a snappy looking, coil bound 8.5 x 11 single lined paper notebook. Its purpose? A place for me to keep a food diary. I have been thinking it's going to go a long way to help me curb snacking impulses (cheese for you, cheese for you, oh and cheese for momma). I have been thinking about this since my post on Mindless Eating. Already I see things I'm not proud of, but I've only had 2 (small) pieces of cheese. Hey! That's progress.

My mom has one of these. It has really helped her.

when you're keeping track you really think twice about what you're going to have to write down. Good for you!

Half the battle is being aware of what we're doing. I think you'll see good results with journaling the input.

I love brand new notebooks! Have you ever visited Sparkpeople? Once you have tracked your food, they will help you to track calories!

I use http://www.mypyramidtracker.gov/ it's by the USDA. I like it because I can see how I am doing on my fruit and vegetable consumption etc. I was shocked to find out that I don't eat as many as I thought I did! There is an amazing range of foods and it's free!
Having to log what I eat really makes me think about our diet.

Theresa

I'm here for the Tea Party Social :) This is such a great idea and it might be what I need to get motivated to lose those last five pounds of baby pounds. It has been almost a year. Oh, and I love the uses for Apple Cider Vinegar. I'll have to print that out.
