Avocado: budget beauty

Sure avocado in guacamole is pretty addictive, but how about in facials? Avocado is rich in beneficial oils that rejuvenate the skin, reduce eye puffiness, heal frizzy hair, and more. Here's a quick round up of frugal beauty tips for avocado lovers.

Stop scary eye bags
Slice a peeled avocado into quarters and place on eyes. Rest for twenty minutes. Results guaranteed!

Facials for dry skin types
Mash half an avocado and spread evenly onto your face. Leave for 15 minutes and rinse off with warm water.

Frugal hair revival
Combine mashed avocado, one egg yolk and 1/2 teaspoon of olive oil. Apply to hair and let set for 30+ minutes. Shampoo and condition. Go forth and conquer.

Ap-peeling moisterizer
Use the avocado peel by applying the inside of the peel to your clean face using gentle upward strokes. Leave all night or rinse after 15 minutes.

Mask for oily skin
Mash and combine 1/2 avocado, 1 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice and 1 egg white. Apply evenly and keep on for 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water and follow with an astringent.

My grandmother, from Colombia, used avocados for everything. SOftening her feet, her hands, and her hair. SHe's scoop out the meat, and rub the oily shells on whatever needed moisturizing.
