
Tightwad was quite disgruntled when peering into the fridge this morning she noticed a whole lettuce shoved to the back of the veg drawer, frozen. And some seen-better-days baby bok choy and red onion. Pushing produce to the back of the fridge instead of being better organized is a good way to waste food. Before this happens next time,
Tightwad is going to try to use this stuff up in 'trash' meals. This doesn't sound too sexy but it's a good way to describe this meal building process that is described in
Get Crafty on a thrifty ideas forum to rid your fridge of little leftovers. 'Trash' pizzas, omelettes and salads are good ways to make sure that you use up those last little bits of onions, ham and arugula so nothing, including your hard earned dough, is wasted.

Lettuce can be served cooked! I don't have any specific recipes to offer but a quick Google search should help. I would probably check the settings in the fridge too, in hopes to avoid freezing veggies.
Where did you get your compost bucket? We have an old ice cream bucket which isn't pretty...
